Asbestos surveys can be classified into two types: Management surveys and Refurbishment/Demolition surveys.
Management surveys are carried out to identify any asbestos-containing materials that may be present in the building, whereas Refurbishment/Demolition surveys are more intrusive and are conducted before renovation or demolition work.

Asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) can be found in various locations within a building, such as ceilings, walls, floor tiles and loft spaces. A full asbestos survey is necessary to locate them.
